# Closed and deleted workspaces

> What happens to your workspace and its data when Soosh support closes or deletes it, how it comes back, and when a deleted one is erased for good.

Soosh support can close a workspace, or delete it. Closing removes nothing.
Deleting keeps everything for 30 days, then erases the workspace for good.
You can't close, delete or restore a workspace yourself, even as its owner.
Contact support.

## Why workspaces close

Support closes a workspace to pause it, for example while an account is
suspended or a payment problem is sorted out. Deleting is for a workspace
that is no longer in use. Both keep your data for a while, so a mistake or a
change of plan can be undone: a closed workspace for as long as it stays
closed, a deleted one for 30 days.

## When a workspace is closed

Members see **Workspace closed** instead of the workspace. From that page,
and from the workspace switcher, they can still open any other workspace
they belong to. Signing in takes them to another workspace if they have one.

While it's closed:

- Nothing is sent from it: no messages, campaigns, bot or AI replies,
calls, outgoing webhooks, store automations or automatic top-ups. Calls in
  progress end.
- API keys for the workspace stop working.
- Messages and calls that arrive are acknowledged to WhatsApp but not kept,
so they don't appear after it reopens. Delivery and read receipts for
messages already sent are still recorded. So is the end of a call that was
  in progress when it closed.
- Data, members, roles, the wallet and history are all kept.

When support reopens it, everything works again, but nothing restarts on its
own. Campaigns that were running or scheduled stay **Paused** until you
resume them. Store automations only message orders and checkouts from after
the reopen.

## When a workspace is deleted

A deleted workspace is closed too, and it also disappears for its members.
It's no longer in the workspace switcher, and anyone signed in to it is
signed out. There's no **Workspace closed** page for it.

The owner gets an email that it was deleted, with the date it will be erased.

### The first 30 days

For 30 days nothing is removed. Members, the owner, roles, WhatsApp numbers,
the wallet, history and every chat and contact stay.

To get the workspace back, contact support before the 30 days end. Support
restores it with all of it. It comes back closed, and support reopens it as
a separate step. A week before the 30 days end, the owner gets a reminder
email with the date.

> **Note:** During those 30 days a deleted workspace keeps its WhatsApp numbers. They
> can't be connected to another workspace until it is restored and the numbers
> are removed from it, or until it is erased.

### After 30 days

When the 30 days are over, the workspace is erased for good, and it can't be
restored any more. Everything in it goes: chats, contacts, campaigns,
templates, flows, files, recordings, API keys, webhooks, the wallet and its
balance, and its history.

- Its WhatsApp numbers are freed, so they can be connected to another
  workspace.
- Members who also belong to other workspaces keep their account and those
  workspaces.
- An account that only ever belonged to this workspace is erased too. If the
person is invited to Soosh again later, they make a new account.
- Its plan is cancelled, so nothing more is charged. A wallet balance isn't
  refunded.
