# Use reply suggestions

> Let the AI draft a reply to the chat, then check it, change it and send it.

## Before you start

- Reply suggestions turned on for your workspace. If you don't see the
  sparkles button in the message box, ask your admin.

## Get a suggestion

1. Open the chat, with the message box empty.
2. Click **Suggest a reply** (the sparkles button) in the message box. It says
   **Writing a suggestion…** for a moment.
3. Read the draft, shown in grey in the message box. Press **↓** or **↑** to
   see the others; there can be up to 3.
4. Press **Tab**, or click **Use**, to put the draft in the message box.
5. Change anything you need, then press **Enter** to send it.

> **Note:** Nothing is sent until you send it. Check every draft: the AI can be wrong.

## Result

Your edited reply is sent like any other. To throw the draft away, press
**Esc** or click **Dismiss suggestion**; typing also clears it.

If it says **Couldn't write suggestions. Try again.**, wait a moment and try
again. Other messages explain what's wrong, like the workspace reaching its
monthly AI limit.
