## Before you start

- Owner or admin role in Soosh

## Create the action

1. Go to [**Settings > Chat actions**](https://app.soosh.io/settings/chat-actions) and click **Add chat action**.
2. In **Name**, enter what it does, like *Create a support ticket*. Agents see
it when they point at the button.
3. Choose an **Icon**.
4. Choose the **Action type**:
   - **Webhook**: sends the customer's details to your system. Enter the
**Webhook URL**, the **HTTP method** and the **Request body**. Click
**Insert template** for a starting point.
   - **Open URL**: opens a page, like the customer's record in your order
     system.
   - **JavaScript**: runs your own code, for advanced use.
5. Click **Add**.

In the URL and the body, these are filled in for each chat:
`{{contact.name}}`, `{{contact.phone_number}}`, `{{user.name}}` and
`{{user.email}}`.

## Result

The button appears at the top of every chat for people who can use chat
actions. See [Run a chat action](https://docs.soosh.io/guides/inbox/run-a-chat-action/).

To hide it for a while, turn off its switch in the list.
