# Delete a contact

`DELETE /v1/contacts/{id}`

Deletes the contact, as the app does: it's hidden from lists and the inbox, and what the AI remembered about the customer is erased.

Needs `contacts:write`.

## Path parameters

- `id` (string, uuid): The contact's ID.

## Afterwards

Creating a contact with the same number brings it back. Deleting sends `contact.deleted`.

## Returns

204. No content.

## Errors

Besides the ones every request can get (https://docs.soosh.io/reference/api/errors/):

- 404 `not_found`: There is no contact with this ID in your workspace.
